Resumen
In this work some comments are made about indirect methods and Chapelle’s method applied to determine the reactivity of pozzolanic materials. Chapelle’s method was applied to determine the lime consumption by metakaolin, silica fume, fly ash, sugar cane bagasse ash and rice husk ash, comparing the result with mass proportions - lime: pozzolan 1:1, as originally proposed by Chapelle and 2:1as specified in Brazilian and French Standards. Sugar cane bagasse and rice husk ashes are generally collected on the production site and calcined under specific conditions research laboratory and, consequently, their characteristics are variable, as well as their results. Silica fume, fly ash and metakaolin, on the contrary, come from industrial processes under controlled conditions and may have homogeneous characteristics; therefore the results are in a more narrow range.
