Resumo
This study aim assess the behavior of steel fibers reinforced self-compacting concrete beams subjected to bending. For such, were used steel fibers with l/d ratio equal to 50, in a volume fraction of 1%. Were arranged reinforced beams of dimensions (12,5 x 23,5 x 132) cm, which were tested by four-point bending, to 28 days of age, being made measurements of the deformations in the stirrups and longitudinal reinforcement, furthermore measurements of the deformations in the compressed region of concrete and deflections in the mid-span. The tests results shown that the addition of the steel fibers in the self-compacting concrete (SCC) promoted slight gain in the beam’s resistant capacity, with lower deflections in the mid-span, lower deformations of the reinforcements, both transversal as longitudinal, and improved cracking control, compared to the others beams produced with conventional concretes, with and without steel fibers.
