Resumo

This work makes the comparison between different models to predict the compressive strength of the masonry prisms of the concrete blocks. Four different configurations of prisms were experimentally studied, each being tested empty, i.e., ungrouted, and filled with grout and armor, called reinforced prisms. For all arrangements of the prisms its compressive strength, strain and failure modes were recorded. Later these results were compared with different theoretical models for predicting of the compressive strength, based on the individual strength of each material, its rupture strain and in effect of strapping introduced by the blocks on the system. Among the models studied, there was that which led to the best results were those in which it was considered the effect of strapping proportionate by the concrete block, and also a change in the rupture strain of grout.
